Leaving the car behind

Rules

The goal of the Valley Connector is to allow customers the opportunity to Rest, Relax and Revitalize as they travel to their destination.

Many of our members accomplish this by quietly reading or taking a nap.  Others chose to finish up work assignments so they can relax at home.

Being courteous of others around you can make the journey a much more pleasant experience for everyone.

For the comfort and convenience of all members, the following rules must be observed while riding the bus:

  • No smoking,

  • No littering,

  • No radios without headphones.

  • No loud or disruptive behavior

  • Limited cell phone usage
  • No Volgar or Obscene language

Although cell phones are permitted, it is recommended to turn off your phone and enjoy the trip.  While using your phone or talking to others, be mindful of fellow commuters.

Management reserves the right to ask any disruptive passenger to find another method of commuting.

Normal Operation for the bus service is Monday through Friday.  Exceptions include Federal Holidays and Government Closures.

Unforeseen circumstances may occur from time to time that may delay or alter normal transportation routing.  In these situations every effort will be made to get members and guest to their ultimate destination in a timely manner.  All members and guest are strongly encouraged to sign up for the Guaranteed Ride Home Program.

Disruptions of Government operations, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will make announcements to the media as to whether Federal agencies in the Washington, DC, area are open or closed, or operating under an unscheduled leave policy, a delayed arrival policy, or an early dismissal policy.  Bus service will be provided on schedule to the extent possible.

In the case of delayed arrival or early dismissal, the bus will operate at the normal time, provided the streets are accessible.  Every effort will be made to contact passengers if the bus will be departing earlier or later then scheduled.

When streets are not accessible by the bus in the District of Columbia, riders will be dropped off and picked up at the Pentagon and Rosslyn stops.

When the Pentagon parking area is restricted and not accessible by the bus, riders will be dropped off and picked up at the Rosslyn stop

When access within the beltway in not accessible by the bus, riders will be dropped off and picked up the Vienna metro.
